You really need to beware of all the SCAMS being directed at us seniors. I guess they the scammers think we are easy targets and I guess some of us are. We go back to a generation when a man's word meant something you took faith in. That day is gone.
The scammers are more experience now with all these new ways they have come up on how to scam us. Well,we need to start being a little more alert to their tactics. We just had one here where emails were sent out telling people their credit cards account has been compromise so would you please call a certain phone number and give them your account information. It was advertise in the local papers for several days and they still ended up scamming some people out of and over $100.000.
They are very smart in their methods to scam you. So BEWARE when you get an email or phone call asking for your credit information. If they contact you by phone and say they represent a company you deal with then ask them for their name and phone number because you will have to get back to them in a few minutes because you are busy at the moment. Then call that company they say they represent and ask them if they had just contacted you by phone for this information.
If not call your police dept right away and give them the information you have collected. If this company will not give you this information just hang up because it's not legit. When face with a decision of giving out your credit information to someone over the phone always protect yourself first and ask for help from someone you trust. SAD
