Balance the budget!!

I wonder sometimes how serious our gov is about balancing the budget. A thought came to mind what about giving all gov employee's a week off a month w/o pay  including Washington's congress and senate.
Excluding the military and emergency service's.
I wonder how much effect that would have on the budget and help our deficit or better yet all gov employees take a 15% cut in pay and benefits including Washington . Wouldn't be nice to see our gov make a move like that to show the American people they are in it with us.
How about cutting the prescription drug program. The Pharmaceutical companies are making a killing off  the seniors maybe without them the prices would return to normal. I went to my doctor last week and talked with him about the cost of the visit then I asked him what type of discount he would give me for cash payment.
I was shocked when he said a 35% cut, well I paid buy cash because that way he didn't have to fight and argue with medicare or the insurance co. I just wonder if we dropped medicare and went back to the old days when you dealt with the doctor and hospitals not medicare and insurance co how much would the cost go down. It does make you wonder about it. Who really controls the health of American people? We know for sure it's not the morons in Washington. SAD

HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Here we go again. The middle class and lower are being asked again to bail out our government by allowing them to make cuts in our entitlement's. The seniors today have had their social security benefits already cut by not receiving a cost of living increase for the last two years.
But it seems unfair the government including the congress and senate give themselves a cost of living raise. I guess they must pay a different cost for the same things we have to pay for. They say they will cut their operating expenses by ten percent yet every politician claims their office always return fifteen percent to the government at the end of of the year. So the way I look at it is they end up with a five percent raise. Other words instead of returning the fifteen percent now they only have to return ten percent.
Why do millionaire's like Warren Buffet and others receive social security monthly retirement checks.
I can see why they laugh about it. I would think anybody who lets say would have a net income after they reach the retirement of age 65 of $200.000.00 should not be in titled to social security checks unless their income falls below a net income $ 100,000.00 a year.
Just think how that money put back in social security would help the fund.
How about prisoners in our prisons receiving monthly social security checks I heard that is happening. We seniors have paid into social security all our working lives we didn't give the government permission to take money out of the fund and replace it with worst less paper. The government is the one that is destroying the social security fund. They withdrew money from the fund with no intentions of ever putting it back.
Now the seniors will have to be the ones to suffer.
This has gone on for almost 30 years or more. Will the piggy bank is about Empty. So now they are trying
to push the blame on everyone else but were it belongs. So the American seniors and middle class
and lower class will be the ones to suffer again. SAD

Our Young People of today.

You know all we seem to hear about is our kids who are not going to college for one reason or other like they have no future with out it. We need to take a closer look at our kids. The kids of today are so much more advanced then when we were growing up. Just take a look at their computer skills. They talk about kids dropping out of high school and we wonder why,
Sometimes I wonder are the kids of today becoming smarter then the older fashion teachers in our schools today? I have talked with a lot of kids and some of them tell me they just got to bored with school. I don't blame the teachers they have a hard job trying to stay ahead of these kids learning curve. Most kids today are so far advanced by the time they start school most of them can already read do math and are a whiz on a computer or gaming consoles.
So yes our teachers have a tough job because they also have to continue to learn to stay ahead of our kids. You know not all people need a college degree. When I hear that IBM, Microsoft and these other corporation have  to go overseas to find educated employee's what a crock. Are you trying to till me you need a college degree to work an assembly line installing computer hardware I don't think so.
That's a bunch of crap. How many college grades do you see driving nails into boards building a house? How many do you see repairing bridges, roadways and underground utilities so lets get real. Not everyone can or are willing to spend the next twenty years paying off student loans. All these young people want is to make a descent wage and to enjoy the American dream. So lets not say to our kids if you don't go to college you have no future.
Lets just say to our kids be all you can be because the world as we know it would stop without you and whatever course you take or job you should strive to be the best with or without a college degree..SAD

Congratulations to the people of Egypt. This has shown the world  the peaceful power in the united voices of the PEOPLE. I hope they go forward with peace and pride and form the type of the government that will show the world that  people just want a chance to be in control of their own future. With God and their rich history they will now be able to guide their future. They have achieved their goal now it is time to show the world a new Egypt with freedom and honor for all. SAD

NOT HOW MANY BUT WHY??

I was sitting here in front of my computer and wondering just how many of our military personnel had been killed in wars or conflict's since world was ll. It seemed no matter who I asked or what sight I went to I couldn't find an answer.
I thought to myself maybe I'm not looking in the right spots and then I thought to myself maybe I'm asking the wrong question. Are the numbers that important or is the question wrong or maybe both. Then I thought to myself maybe I should be asking why. I have heard all the answer's just like I am sure you have too.

 But the one answer that keeps me wondering about is in our country's best interest. What is defined in that statement that is worth so many young American lives and when you find the answer to this question please be so kind as to let me know. Thanks, SAD

PEOPLE, watch out for this FRAUD.

JURY Duty Scam -  True info. Read about it on "Snopes".. click on attachment above....
Pass this on to your grown children and anyone else you can think of. This has been verified by the FBI (their link is also included below). Please pass this on to everyone in your email address book. It is spreading fast so be prepared should you get this call. Most of us take those summonses for jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on their civic duty that a new and ominous kind of fraud has surfaced.

The caller claims to be a jury  DUTY  coordinator. If you protest  that you never received a summons for jury duty, the Scammer asks you for your Social Security number and date of birth so he or she can verify the information and cancel the arrest warrant. Give out any of this information and bingo, your identity was just stolen.

The fraud has been reported so far in 11 states, including Oklahoma , Illinois , and Colorado , AZ and more. This (swindle) is particularly insidious because they use intimidation over the phone to try to bully people into giving information by pretending they are with the court system.

The FBI and the federal court system have issued nationwide alerts on their web sites, warning consumers about the fraud.

VA Benefits.

I heard something on C-Span the other day were there are two politicians talking about cutting 3.4 Billion dollars from our soldiers Va benefits. I for one don't care which party they represent or which house they represent.
 All I know is if we can't provide care for our young men and woman fighting for this country far away from home and returning to this country wounded or Even worse then it is time to stop sending our young brave men and women into battles in foreign lands. Why is it when things at home get  bad they the politicians want to cut our Va Benefits. It is a disgrace.
Lets bring our young men and woman home and then give the politicians guns and send them to war and let them feel the pain's of war. Who gave us a badge and told us we had to police the world. We have our own problems at home maybe it time to take care of our own country's problems first for a change.

I am asking all grand parents,husband's,wife's,mothers,fathers,brothers.sisters and friends of these brave soldiers to call or write your politician's and tell them to keep their hands off the Va Benefits that our young men and women have earned by putting their live's on the line for this country. It's time to do the right thing. SAD

Egypt's Freedom.

Thank you for your comment Brent and Tammy on Egypts freedom. You bring up some good questions. But sometimes the best answers are the simple one's. This is just one old mans opion. There are things overthere that we may never know about.
But a least we are talking about it and that is the first step to understanding. People's fear and understanding the situation is part of a ditators arsenal of weapons that can be used during times of unrest. But
 like I say this is just a one old mans thoughts. Again thanks for you comment, I have enjoyed it.

Have Fun Coin Collecting.

I am not a big coin collector but I do enjoy it but I have to keep it under control. I always try and find the best deals. I purchase most of my coins from the US Mint online at better prices. I don't buy them from tv shows or magazines their prices are to inflated for me. I try and give my kids and grand children some kind of a coin set at Christmas.
 I have a few dealers online I deal with but it always pays to shop around  their prices online. Just go to google and type in US coin collecting and you will find alot of dealers or go to Ebay and check their site on US Coins.
 I feel it helps the kids understand the art of collecting coins new or old. I also teach them to always check their pocket change because you would be surprised what you may find. I have found quit a few error and old coins from my pocket change. one tip-stay away from gold layered coins yes they are pretty but it does not improve their value.
 I tell the kids to go out buy some coin books or go to library and check out coin collecting books. But always stay within your budget. So lets have fun start collecting coins.

Are we really Dinosaurs ?

What a funny question to ask. But do our kids see us that way when it comes to computer knowledge. During Christmas holidays we were blessed with having our son and grandson at home for the first time in many years. When my grandson called and said grandpa do you have wireless ( say what ). When I said no oh grandpa you are still in the dinosaur age ha ha. I have been called alot of things but never a dinosaur before so I asked him to explain to me what he meant by that statement. After a quick lesson I was still in the dark to what he just got through explaining so he said don't worry gramps I will get you up to date. Well when he and my son got here guess where the first place they headed yep my computer room and the next thing I knew there where wires flying everywhere. They started explaining what they were doing and yep here came the senior brain fog moment. I had to get the hell out of there for self preservation so I hung out in the bathroom till it was over. All I could think of was my beautiful computer being molested by these computer hackers. Well I finally emerge from the bathroom and to my surprise everyone was sitting around the table looking so relaxed. Where you been grandpa and I replied I had something to take care of. Oh by the way I notice they all had laptops sitting in front of them and they where all using them. Josh my grandson said will grandpa you are now wireless. I said what does that mean he replied now we are all hooked up off your computer. After showing me what he had done I began to understand more about wireless. The moral to this story is sometimes we should listen to our kids.Because they are a whole lot smarter then we think or give them credit for..
